Club captain Grant Leadbitter has previewed the Charlton game, and has said how the squad is feeling confident and looking sharp ahead of the clash with Lee Bowyer’s side on Saturday in what could be a top of the table clash.

“Charlton will be disappointed with the result they had at the weekend, so they’ll be looking to get back on track, I know their manager and played with him a few years ago. I’m sure it’s going to be a tough game, but we have to start as we mean to go on. Training has been at a good level. We’ve looked sharp, it’s been intense, and I’m a big believer that if you perform well Monday to Friday, nine times out of 10 you’ll pick up a good result on the Saturday. To be successful you need to win those tight games like we did last weekend, it was nice to score, but the most important thing is we’re starting the season well. I’ve said from day one since I came into the club that you have to be together. There will be bad moments in a season at times, and it’s the togetherness that gets you through from my experience. There’s only one way to get that togetherness and team spirit and it’s to be winners on the training pitch and then bring that into the game at the weekend.”
