Grant Leadbitter has spoken about the last few games in a poor run of form as well as the performance away to Hull City as well as evaluating Sunderland's promotion chances in the remaining 4 games.
PERFORMANCES
“I’m disappointed, I wanted to win the game, but the performance was good first half, the performance at Blackpool was really good but we got beat which was disappointing. The thing I’m concentrating on most is the performances going into the last few games of the season, that’s what I’m prioritising, because we’re playing well, apart from Wigan when we were poor. Apart from that blip, the performances have been good, we’ve let ourselves down with the last few games, but against Hull we played well. Anything can happen going into the last few games so we have to win them all, we’ll see how we go.”
HULL
“Hull is always going to put pressure on you, especially when you’re away from home. I thought we played outstanding there and deserved to win, we’re disappointed with a point. We hit the bar twice late on and feel as if we could’ve won it. We’re looking forward to Thursday’s training session before the weekend, we want to win all the time, no matter what.”
ON THE SPOT
“I like them situations where you have to wait to take the penalty; I always back myself so I like that, especially at this time in the season. The start of the game, we were excellent, the first 25 minutes you couldn’t fault us but we let them into the game with a sloppy header but Hull are a good side, they’re top of the league and I believe that’s them done so congratulations to them.”
THE RUN IN
“We’ve got to see how Peterborough go but let’s win games and let’s thrive on that and let’s step up to the challenge, we let ourselves down these last few games but there’s a long way to go. I’m looking forward to the final run in and I’m confident. It’s all about performances now, all about playing well and getting the results. We can’t not play well and expect to win, I’m experienced enough to know how it works and if you don’t play well and the performances aren’t good then nothing will come of it. I’m looking forward to the last four games, let’s put pressure on Peterborough and win some games, let’s go for it and win some games. It’s about sticking together and staying calm. There’s lots of twists and turns to go, we’ve had a bad week, a real bad week but I think we can rebuild. I fancy us to go up, even if it’s the play-offs, I’ll go into the play-offs no problem.”
