KEEP, LOAN OR SELL? FORWARDS

Here is the final installation of who I would keep, loan or sell at Sunderland in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Before reading this, you might want to read part one and part two where I discussed the defenders/goalkeepers and midfielders.

PATRICK ROBERTS: KEEP

Roberts has been poor this season, but he has bags of ability and it’s just about reinstalling that confidence in him that he had last campaign. If he can improve his output in the final third, there’s no reason why he can’t play a huge part in the new season.

ABDOULLAH BA: KEEP

My mate Abdoullah. I like him a lot, it seems not many do. With seven goal contributions Ba has shown flashes of brilliance this season whilst being in and out the team. His experiences from this season could shape him into a solid attacking option for the club next season.

JOBE: KEEP

Seven goals and one assist for Jobe this campaign has been a good return for a player of his age who has played almost everywhere on the pitch barring defence. Sunderland will face interest from clubs for his signature in the summer but the club should be doing everything possible to keep him at the club.

JEWISON BENNETTE: SELL

Bennette has struggled since joining from Costa Rica, a young kid flying to a country of which he doesn't speak the language and being given very limited game time. Even out on loan at Aris, Bennette has struggled for gametime and I don’t see that changing when he returns to the club in the summer.

LUIS HEMIR: LOAN

Hemir has struggled massively despite a fairly promising pre-season. He hasn’t had much game time but when he has, he’s rarely shown anything to suggest he has what it takes to be Sunderland’s striker next season. A loan to League One or Two could be the best option for Hemir to find his feet in this country.

MASON BURSTOW: RETURN TO CHELSEA

For a lad with interest from Milan, playing for Chelsea, I had high hopes for Burstow but without being too harsh, he’s been nothing less than lost on the pitch every time he’s played. Slow, Weak and lacking a striker's instinct. There’s been rumours we could sign him permanently. I sincerely hope that doesn’t happen.

JACK CLARKE: KEEP

I don’t see a world in which Clarke plays for us next season. There’s so much interest in him from around the globe, from teams that will be offering far more money than Sunderland would be sensible to. I’d love to see him stay but it’s incredibly unlikely.

ELIEZER MAYENDA: LOAN

I actually thought Mayenda had something to offer in the few appearances he made before his surprise loan move to Hibs in January where he has barely featured this season. To be quite frank though, Sunderland can’t risk it with him next season. They need proven forwards and a loan move will be the best outcome. However it has to be at a club that will give him exposure to first team football otherwise what’s the point?

ROMAINE MUNDLE: LOAN, MAYBE

I’m a little stuck with Mundle. Again, he’s shown some signs of quality but for large parts has looked incredibly raw and whilst a loan could be beneficial for him to start week in week out, he may be needed in the inevitable outcome of Clarke’s departure.

NAZARIY RUSYN: KEEP

It’s not exactly an achievement, but Rusyn is our top scoring striker this season albeit with just two goals. But his general play has been promising and I think he could be a good option to have in the squad. There have been rumours of discontent amongst his camp with some reports claiming he’s found it hard to settle in the area. So it could be an interesting saga leading into the summer.
