KEANO TO SAFC?

Roy Keane is set to be interviewed by Sunderland for the vacant managerial role, which would see the Irishman return to the club he left 13 years ago.

Keane is a man who needs no introduction, and was a serial winner with Manchester United. As a manager, he took over with Sunderland bottom of the Championship and ended the season as Champions, such was the impact he had on the squad.

However, Keane's last job in management was 11 years ago, with the ex-midfielder focusing on punditry.

Owner Kyril Louis-Dreyfus and sporting director Kristjaan Speakman will lead the interview process and are expected to have a conversation with Keane.

Former Hull City gaffer Grant McCann is also expected to be interviewed for the job soon.

McCann has a background of succeeding under financial restrictions, as proven when he finished top of League One last season with Hull.

McCann was sacked in January, after a Turkish consortium took over as owners of the Tigers.
