JOHNSON IMPRESSED BY DEFENDER

Lee Johnson spoke about Bailey Wright's impact, new signing Dennis Cirkin and offered an injury update on Corry Evans.

WRIGHT

Yeah, that was Bailey at his best and to be fair I think that's been the case in his last three games. In our pre-season friendly at Tranmere Rovers I thought he was very good, and then last week he came on against Wigan and I thought he really helped shore us up and get the win. He played well in the cup game at Port Vale as well, and was probably our top performer alongside Anthony Patterson. I'm very, very happy to have him back to his best."

VERSATILITY

"It's credit to the lads. Winch has had to play out of position again, even Pritch has come on for ten minutes in the ten role and then I've had to move him out to the left wing. Dan Neil again has had to go into left wing-back. When you come through that and win that game, it really can build that camaraderie up."

CIRKIN

Dennis wasn't going to start, to be honest, but sometimes needs must, and I knew it would be a game where he would be OK because he didn't actually have a direct opponent so he had some space in possession. I think you saw his quality, though, and I think he'd say he is only at 75-80 percent at the moment. In a perfect world, you want to get your transfer work done early but on the flip side of that, it's easy to sign average players - for good players you have to wait. For his league debut, I thought he was outstanding. He's physical, he's got the biggest quads I've ever seen for a 19-year-old. He can make those marauding runs forwards and he had a couple of nice connections with Aiden McGeady."

EVANS

"He's had a bit of tightness just on the edge of his hamstring/groin. It was just enough for him to come off, so we'll have to see."
