INJURIES PRE BOXING DAY

Tony Mowbray has outlined the frustrations that came at Hull: while Ballard and Stewart came back, the likes of Danny Batth, Alex Pritchard and Elliot Embleton are now missing...

RETURNING PLAYERS

"Good that we’ve got Ellis back and Ross is on the cusp. He obviously played at the weekend and scored so he’s on the cusp of getting a start and it’s great to see Dan Ballard back as well to give different types of options defensively."

PRITCH/BATTH/EMBO

"The sadness for me is that we picked up a couple of injuries, so at this moment Pritchard wasn’t ready at the weekend and Danny Batth came off after however many minutes, and Elliot Embleton obviously picked up his injury."

ADAPTING

"So you get a couple of players back, but then lose two or three. I suppose that’s football and we have to accept it. In general the whole group have equipped themselves to the league - not necessarily from anything I’ve done but the group have adapted to the league very well. It is a tough league and they’ve shown that they can compete against just about anybody in this division. Even when we don’t win we generally make every match competitive."
