I’M NOT HOPEFUL…

I’m totally disgusted with this team and management. I went to my first match at the age of 8 in 1960 and always went in the Fulwell End from that date and eventually with my kids. This was always an exciting time for the family on a Saturday. We always went to The Sappers or The Royal Navy club in Roker Avenue before the match. Enjoyable times.

To me the best chairman was always Bob Murray. Niall Quinn was not the best of chairmen totally treating fans and investors with total contempt. I still hold my shares and refused to sell. Not worth a penny.

However, I have accepted what has gone on over the years and have no regrets supporting my team during troubled times. But now I believe the time has come for change. We were in a great position to secure promotion after the terrible start to the season, however we have screwed up once again and have the worst record in this poor league over the last six games.

Personally, since the win in the Mickey Mouse cup the team has not played, because they thought they were invincible. Not true. Some of these players and the manager need to take a long hard look at themselves. The chairman needs to reflect on what he has inherited and make dramatic changes next season. The team and management are one of the worst I have seen.

I am ashamed to say this, but at this time I am embarrassed at being a Sunderland Supporter. Personally, I think the job should have gone to Nigel Pearson alongside the great Kevin Phillips.

The two reporters on the Sunderland television match (Danny Collins and Frankie Francis) are totally suffering from blinkered vision and delusion. Are they watching the same game as the rest of us? I do not think so. They need to take a reality check and realise what the true story is. Basically, the team is not good enough. Hopefully if we can improve for the play-offs that would be positive.

I’m not hopeful…
