Lynden Gooch was left disappointed with Sunderland's defensive display last night, although he did admit that the team's free-flowing attacking football was a positive.
END TO END
"It was a bit crazy wasn't it? It's disappointing to score four goals at home and not win the game. And to concede four after such a brilliant defensive display last week was disappointing. So it was good to score four goals but defensively really disappointed."
"I just think first 20 minutes we didn't get it right, didn't get the press right and it was too easy for them to get out and overload our back four so we need to have a look at that as a team. But after that I thought we did really well and the other goals were just mistakes really. So yeah, disappointing but obviously it was a good game, we scored good goals and played well after the first 20 minutes I'd say."
"We are really good going forward, we will create chances and there were some really good goals where we won the ball back and kind of counter-attacked quickly. So there were some good positives there."
DRAW FAIR RESULT
"I think we're obviously disappointed to concede so late on, and should have done better to see the game out. It was a topsy-turvy game with both teams winning at different times, and it probably is a fair result in the end."
"I felt good, I think me and Clarkey have a good understanding together. Like I said we're disappointed with the four goals but we just need to look at what we did at the start of the game and try and fix that for Monday."
"It's a quick turnaround so we just need to recover and try and get our bodies right to go again on Monday. Hopefully we can give the fans a result to shout about. It's going to be difficult because they (Cardiff) are fighting for everything at the minute at the bottom, so it's going to be tough."
