FLANAGAN POST DONNY

Tom Flanagan reflects on Monday's clean sheet and victory over Doncaster Rovers...

PERFORMANCE

“A really good performance, really professional. We just got our work done early, knew we needed to kill it off in the second half and we’ll move on from here.”

CLEAN SHEET

“I think we played well at the back but it helped that we demoralised them as early as we did with the potency of the players. Leon today and obviously Ross, it could have been three more goals! It’s disappointing for the lads that it wasn’t, but like I say it was a real team performance at the back and front.”

MOMENTUM

“Momentum is key at the minute, especially if you’re playing three games in a week. If you lose one it kind of takes the sting out of it, so keep the run rolling and get another three points.”

LOVING IT

“I’m absolutely loving it. I had a tough season last year, and the manager’s really rejuvenated me in respect to the way we play and his man management. There’s a better vibe on the training pitch, we’ve always had a good group of lads but there’s a real intensity and we’ve got that winning mentality. I think that’s brilliant.”

FANS

“The boys have been here long enough now, we always look forward to Donny away because there’s always so many fans. We can talk about the fans every week because we’ve got more than the home fans at pretty much every ground! It was funny, we spoke about it before Ipswich. A big day out for the home fans, 28,000, we play in front of that every week! And to bring this following away, it’s second to none and it’s good to put on a display for them and send them home happy.”

SHEFF WED

“It’s a huge game and no matter who it is, any club is a huge game with everything going on, and still being fit and ready to go and make sure everyone’s in the right headspace to start the game like we started today.”
