FITNESS UPDATE

The gaffer updated us on the squad's injury situation ahead of the Reading game...

INJURY UPDATE

“We haven’t lost or gained anyone midweek, there are a few people who haven’t trained but I’m hopeful that they will be available for the game tomorrow. We have five first team players unavailable, but that’s pretty normal at this stage of the season for a lot of clubs. I’m sure Reading have a few injuries themselves, but we’re going to get on with it and select a team that can cause Reading some problems.”

CIRKIN

“Dennis Cirkin won’t be available for tomorrow’s game, we hope to get him back with no symptoms. He is back on the grass now, and that time process has started and I’m sure he will be available for Tuesday. So, unfortunately Dennis will miss the weekend.”

LIHADJI

“It’s very difficult to plan and prepare for a game, when the Lad doesn’t understand the information being given to him at the moment. Some of that could be my fault because my French isn’t very good, but this is something that we will overcome over a long period. Pointing is alright for me, but I know that some young coaches study different languages early on because the games become so global. I feel as if this wasn’t never really something that coaches did when I was getting my pro licence over 20 years ago. The world of football has opened since then, and it is a global game now. So, it’s not a bad trait for any young coach who’s got aspirations to become a manager to learn languages. Whether it’s so you can go abroad and work or communicate with players coming to play in your team.”
