EMBO OFF TO DERBY

Sunderland’s latest piece of deadline day activity sees Wembley goal scorer Elliot Embleton head off to Derby on loan.

Embleton hasn’t featured this season due to injury and last season he managed to make 24 appearances for the lads, but only played the full 90 minutes on two occasions before having his season cut short in December with an ankle injury.

Kristjaan Speakman on Embo:

“Elliot is returning from a long-term injury and it’s important that we get him back up to speed as quickly as possible, but to do that we felt that he needed minutes. After Derby’s approach, we discussed the move with Elliot and agreed that this was a move and environment that suited his immediate requirements. We look forward to supporting his continued return to action from afar and we will review his progress in January.”

Hopefully this loan deal can see him get back to his best and he can potentially add a third League One promotion to his name. Best of luck Embo!
