CORRY EVANS OUT FOR SEASON

The club have just announced that skipper Corry Evans will miss the rest of the season following an injury picked up in the 2-0 win against Boro.

Evans will have to undergo surgery to treat an anterior cruciate ligament injury and will be a massive miss on Wearside, not only as the captain of the team, but as a calming presence in the middle of the pitch for the young squad.

Evans had to be substituted on Sunday in the 11th minute with Edouard Michut replacing him. It looks like now Dan Neil will have to take up the defensive role of Evans but the main worry is how young the midfield is.

Hopefully we can manage but it would be good if we could bring in another experienced midfielder to take up the role Evans had in the squad. A certain Liverpool midfielder springs to mind but that’s just me being hopeful…

But really we are all behind Corry and hope for a swift and successful recovery and we can’t wait to see him back out on the pitch.
