CLARKE POST BLUES

Our goal scorer for today, Jack Clarke, spoke briefly about his goal and the game in general as well as the fantastic support from the Sunderland faithful this afternoon as we drew 1-1 with Coventry City.

POSITIVE

“I thought we did well in spells, I thought we created chances and I thought we had good moments with the ball and we defended well in parts but in this league and at this level all it takes is one movement and the game is turned on its head. I thought we did well, first game back in the Championship and we wanted to take all three points but we’ll take a point in the end.”

THE GOAL

“It felt good. I feel like I need to add more goals and assists into my game and I managed to get one today and hopefully I can use that to build on and as a team we can build on the point and take it into next week.”

BACK POST

"I think they all want that from me to be honest. They've been nagging all pre-season about getting into the back post so thankfully I managed to stick one away today. Unfortunately it wasn’t enough to see the result out but it is what it is."

HOME CROWD

“We've missed them obviously, during pre pre-season not being able to play in front of them but we enjoyed having them here today. They were different class yet again and we'll need them all season.”

BRISTOL

“It’ll be another tough test, a different kind of test. We’ll rest, we'll recover and hopefully the boys are in good spirits to go again next week.”
