CLARKE ON QPR BRACE

Jack Clarke silenced his critics with two goals against his former club QPR on Valentine's Day. Here's what the young winger had to say after the game...

DUG DEEP

“Obviously the result speaks for itself but I think we dug in really deep tonight. We had a few spells in the game where they were on top of us and I think the boys were brilliant, especially the back four keeping us in the game for as long as possible, and when the chances came I managed to put them away.”

STRIKER POSITION

“I think I've adapted as the season’s gone on, playing there to be honest. As you know we’ve had a lot of games this season where we've not had a natural number nine or whatever, so we've all had to adapt and play different positions and I’ve learned. I'm still learning that position. I'm learning as I'm going, but I got asked to play there tonight, tried my best and just luckily got into the right areas twice.”

TAKE THE CHANCES

“As long as I'm playing I'm always going to enjoy it but I think you've got to be a bit more patient up there. You get a lot less of the ball and less opportunities but you've got to do your best for the team when the ball comes to you and hopefully score the goals like I did tonight.”

PATTO PEN SAVER

“Like I said earlier they [QPR] had good spells in the game. Especially at the start of the second half they'd really gotten on top of us. I'm not sure if it was a pen, I haven't seen it back or anything like that. But that’s what we’ve come to expect from Patto. We've got full faith in him and he's been phenomenal again. He's been phenomenal all season so we always have faith in him.”

OPEN GAME

“Obviously we’re always well backed and it was nice to see again tonight. As the game wore on we knew opportunities were going to come, especially as they were chasing the game and there was just more space for us to get into the right areas. Play more chances and we probably would've gotten a couple more by the end of the game but we will take the three points and we’ll move on.”

ALL EYES ON BRISTOL

“We just take each game as it comes to be honest and try to pick up as many points as we can. Obviously we've got two wins in a row now and we'd like to keep pushing forward and take it into Saturday. They’re all big games at the moment, especially if we’re trying to achieve what we set out to achieve at the start of the season. We need to keep picking up as many points as possible and we know Bristol is not going to be an easy game but we’ll recover, rest and be ready to go again on Saturday.”
