Jack Clarke has been talking about last night’s win over Blackburn Rovers, mentioning the good form we are in, his penalty taking duties and the next game against Cardiff.
GOOD EVENING FOR SUNDERLAND
Yeah, it was a good game. Obviously we didn’t start brilliantly, the games came thick and fast between Saturday and now. There was a bit of, not sure what the word is, but we didn’t start brilliantly. We had to put it right, they had a lot of chances early on. We managed to weather that storm, do some good defending and good saves from Patterson and stuff like that and when our moments came we took them.
BETTER SECOND HALF
Yeah I think what the gaffer said was probably right to be honest, we didn’t get the press 100% right to start with. They’re obviously a good team of good players and they’re always doing stuff differently, so it’s hard to properly prefer for them to be honest but after like 15-20 minutes we managed to get our foothold in the game and we worked out what we needed to do when we needed to do it. We just rode out the storm at the start and we managed to take our chances like we said.
THREE WINS IN A ROW
Three wins in a row, have we? Lovely, starting to build a little bit of momentum, we just take it game by game and hopefully the results will come if you put in the performances and people carry on playing well then we hope the results will keep on coming.
FIVE GOALS SO FAR
I had a lot of chances last year and I probably should have scored more goals. I’m just thankful I’m taking my opportunities this year and trying to help the team as much as possible with the goals I’m scoring. It comes from everybody to be honest, people putting me in the right positions at the right time, dominating the games in the way we have been and then thankfully I’m just taking the chances at the minute.
PENALTY TAKER
Everybody who would have been in front of me is either injured or left, so it’s sort of been left to me to be honest. I don’t think that they’re that convincing but I’m yet to miss so I think I’ve still got the role for now.
CARDIFF AT HOME
Yeah, a quick turn around, we have to get ourselves recovered, prepared and ready to go again on Sunday. We’ll do that starting from tomorrow and hopefully we can carry the momentum into Sunday and pick up another three points and see where it takes us.
