CARRICK PRE COV

Whilst we play Preston we will all be hoping for a favour from the Smoggies and their gaffer, Michael Carrick, has said he won’t take it easy even though they have already claimed their spot in the playoffs.

FOCUS ON OURSELVES

"No, I don't think so. We're taking this as a one-off game, it could be a one-off game. This stage of the season is very unpredictable and there's a lot of permutations. We need to focus on ourselves and our standards and what it takes to prepare to be at our level. We understand what's at stake so it's not just about us concentrating on us, there's a responsibility for other teams in the league as well. We're well aware of that. Then whatever happens, whoever we end up playing, we'll deal with that as and when it comes."

SAME AS ANY OTHER GAME

"No no, you can't go in thinking we'll draw this game or lose this game to suit us, no chance. That's pride in ourselves, individually and as a team we have standards, we have our own beliefs and it comes down to pride, but ultimately, like I said, there's a responsibility, competitive responsibility, this game is the same as any other game.”

COULD PLAY COV THREE TIMES IN A ROW

"Every game counts, we won't change how we approach it, whether we play Coventry again or we don't play Coventry again. It is certainly not in our thoughts approaching the game. We know the situation, there's no hiding from it, but we don't have any other agenda apart from trying to be the best we can be and trying to win the game."

NO PREFERRED PLAYOFF OPPONENT

"It's not up to me to have a preference. We'll find out who we'll play against and we'll prepare and deal with that and look forward to that game. On a professional level the preference is not really relevant. We'll play the cards we're dealt and try to make the most of that."
