This will be a good game to give some of our fringe players a run out. Both clubs were in League One a few seasons ago, but now they are two divisions apart. Crewe are a club that are renowned for their youth and in 2021 they were not that far off the League One playoffs. Since then they have lost that good core of players and currently find themselves in League 2.
The last time we played them we won 2-0. Dan Neil fired in a beauty and Patrick Roberts scored his first goal for the club. Sunderland were promoted later that season.
