Mason Burstow was very happy to score his first goal in red and white and the striker thinks the hard work the lads put in on the training ground paid off yesterday.
FIRST GOAL AND THREE POINTS
“Yeah, we’re all buzzing. We’ve had a little blip recently and to get three points today obviously means a lot to the boys and the staff. My first goal just tops it off, we’ve done a lot of work in the training ground for the first six months and I’m delighted it’s come today.”
THE GOAL
“First of all I’m just thinking ‘get it on target’ but this whole week we’ve been working on crossing and Clarkey flashes it across the box and I’m a bit frustrated with myself that I haven’t got onto that one but to stay switched on and react to Abdoullah’s header; yeah I’m happy with it.”
POSITIVITY IN THE TEAM
“Yeah we’re happy we came away with the three points, we had blips during the game where we weren’t at our best but to come through and win how we did we’re happy and we know that we can go do that week’s in advance.”
WINNING AFTER HARD WORK
“It’s almost like a weight off your shoulders, we do a lot of work week in week out and we’ve got another week until the next game. We just keep working, set up for that game and hopefully we get another three points.”
NEXT GAME
“What we keep using on the training ground is it’s just another game and we’re counting down the games and counting down the points as well and hopefully we stay in the position we are and hopefully we can kick on and comfortably come into the playoffs at the end of the season.”
WHAT LUKE O’NIEN SAID
“Yeah, he’s saying ‘just go an enjoy it’. He sees the work I put in everyday on the training ground since I signed here. For it to finally come off, it means a lot and hopefully that means I can kick on.”
