BALLARD POST WBA

Dan Ballard was the pantomime villain at the Hawthorns today, having previously injured Josh Maja in the return fixture, as well as getting their other striker sent off today. He was certainly happy to revel in the win post match, here is what he said.

GETTING STRONGER

“Probably wasn’t our best performance as a team, but you know we’ve been a lot better defensively recently, That’s five clean sheets in six games now so as a defender I’m pleased with that but as a team we didn’t play as well as we would like to, but I’d rather do that and come away with the three points. A tough game but good to get three points.”

STRONG END TO THE SEASON

“It’s good, I feel like we’re limiting teams to very little. As a full team we’re probably playing a little too defensive, we haven’t had the chances that we would like but hopefully we can turn these into more victories, we’ve had a few draws recently. Just keep going, score a few more goals, keep the clean sheets and have a strong end to the season.”

SOLID DEFENSIVE DISPLAY

“I think they’re obviously going to be dangerous, they’re at the top end of the table, they’re good at set pieces, they’ve got the long throw and we knew we’d have to keep our concentration and they made it tough for us in the second half but delighted we got through it with another clean sheet.”

UNBELIEVABLE SUPPORT

“Yeah I was getting a bit of stick today so it added to the win, and I felt good. Another sell out, fans were brilliant, helped us through it again so thank you to them. There doesn't seem like there’s as much to play for now and it’s another sell out and it amazes me, it amazes the players and that’s one of the real motivations to have a strong end to the season because no matter where we go it’s going to be sold out and we can’t thank them enough, the supports unbelievable.”
