After just signing for the club, Joe Anderson has said that he has full faith that he has made the right decision coming to Wearside.

“Over the moon, honestly the minute I heard they were interested I just knew it was the right club. Having seen things on the tele of them, playing against them before it was an amazing club and I think for the next step in my career it was 100% the right move and having spoken with the people like Kristjaan the pathway and the structure is phenomenal.”
GOOD TALKS
“It’s been amazing, to meet the gaffer this morning and how down to earth he is and the fact he was a centre back and how much I can learn from him. Already just a five, ten minute conversation with him the fact that he already told me I can come speak to him, doors always open I can work on things and he will help me do that and with Kristjaan he was explaining the plan and how much individual work goes into it as well, it's not just train as a team, you do everything, individual work like the sort of roles that different staff have that can help you is incredible.”
BALL PLAYING CENTRE BACK
“First and foremost, I like to defend like any centre back but I feel I can bring a bit of presence to the team, I was the captain of the Everton Under 21 team and I feel like I can bring a bit of humour to then dressing room but obviously I’m like on the ball I like to step in play, hit my passes, almost become a midfielder in some sense when I’m stepping in and getting the team started on attacks.”
GOOD PROJECT
“I think that’s the biggest thing, the fact that how much he invests into youth, it’s a project and you can already see at the start of it and how well they’re doing, it’s only going to get better and better and it’s a bright future and you already see how young the team is. When you watch them it’s so mature how they play and everything like that but if you look at the age it’s very young and I met the lads this morning and they’ve been amazing with me already, made me feel welcome so I feel like I just got to bring my personality and together we will achieve good things.”
CONNECTIONS
“I think youth I know a few lads by playing against them, me and Dan Ballard have the same agency and stuff so seeing how he made his step which is very similar to mine it’s a great benchmark to see if you get your head down and work hard you can achieve things like that over a short period of time or even a longer period of time if you stick with the program and work hard then good things will come.”
PAST CLUBS
“Each ones been different but I feel it’s made me the person I am today, I came to Liverpool very young and I had a few position changes, different environment when you’re young then I made the change to Everton and at the time it was the best decision and I feel over the years I’ve developed from a boy to a man as they say, on my game I’ve sort of moved from out wide more in field and I feel like that was also one of the best moves I’ve ever made because it’s brought the best of my ability and attributes out and then I just feel like now with everything that I’ve spoke with Sunderland about it's just 100% the right move and I can’t wait to get started.”
PREMIER LEAGUE CLUB
“That’s the thing, it’s a massive club, I see them as a Premier League club, fan base, the stadium even when I was watching the game at Fulham the away support they have, the derby against Middlesbrough you can hear the fans through the TV it’s like a huge bombshell listening to that so I feel like to get to the Stadium Of Light and feel it in person I can’t wait for it to happen.”
