WRIGHT BENCHED V FRANCE

Bailey Wright was an unused substitute for Australia's 4-1 defeat to France yesterday in the World Cup. The Aussies took a surprise lead through Craig Goodwin, but it was a good win for France who recovered from the early blow. Olivier Giroud's brace means he is now joint-top scorer for France alongside Thierry Henry, with 51 for his country. Wright, wearing the number eight shirt, will hope to be involved in Australia's next two games as they look to shore up their defence.
