GK: Lee Burge. With Jon McLaughlin away on international duty, this is a good match to help bring Burge back to speed following the injury.
RB: Luke O’Nien. With Conor McLaughlin suspended, Parkinson will surely go for O’Nien at right back.
CB: Brandon Taylor. Parkinson is facing an injury crisis at the back, with essentially every centre-half unavailable. Either Taylor or Jack Bainbridge are likely to start tonight, but Taylor edges it having already got an appearance this season.
CB: Laurens De Bock. The Belgian played here against Scunthorpe and was poor but is the only viable option.
LB: Denver Hume. Hume will be expecting to play at fullback, especially if De Bock is deployed in the middle.
CM: Max Power. Power has shown to be reliable this season and a proper leader at times. In a tricky away game where we won’t be at full strength, he could prove a useful asset.
CM: George Dobson. One of our few standout players this season, Dobson adds that tenacity and energy that was missed last year.
LM: Aiden McGeady. With Gooch coming back to fitness and question marks over McGeady’s contribution this season, this is a good chance for him to prove doubters wrong against weaker opposition.
RM: Duncan Watmore. Watmore hasn’t looked amazing since the Tranmere game but that’s to be expected. He’ll obviously be a handful though against the Gillingham back line.
CAM: Chris Maguire. Again, Maguire is probably the only option with Kimpioka away with Sweden and Gooch injured.
ST: Marc McNulty. He’s looked the most threatening striker this season- although that hasn’t been difficult. He’ll be determined to make an impression as he hasn’t started many games.
