Ratings vs Pompey
Jon McLaughlin: (7/10)
Didn’t have a whole lot to do but was solid. The keeper was also impressive in distribution.
Conor McLaughlin: (6/10)
Didn’t really look comfortable at left back but grew into the game.
Jordan Willis: (8/10)
Great in the air and very good on the ball. Willis could become a key player in our attempt to go up.
Alim Ozturk: (7/10)
Strong, competed well with Marquis’ physicality. No nonsense on the ball as well- refreshing to see a good old-fashioned brick shithouse after recent weeks.
Luke O’Nien: (7/10)
Made some good tackles and blocks. Didn’t offer too much attack-wise but wasn’t expected to as an out and out fullback.
Grant Leadbitter: (7/10)
Great leader on the pitch. Some strong tackles and did well shielding the defence.
Max Power: (7/10). See Leadbitter.
Chris Maguire: (8:10)
Totally controlled the first half and clearly got under Pompey’s skin, as he always does. Faded in the second half though before coming off.
Aiden McGeady: (6/10)
Showed some glimpses of quality but tried to do too much by himself.
Lynden Gooch: (7/10)
Got in behind a few times and tracked back well. Looks like the Gooch of last season.
Marc McNulty: (7/10)
Pressed really well and was very energetic. Got nothing from the referee though which frustrated him.
Subs
Charlie Wyke: (7/10)
Won everything in the air and looks much sharper than last season.
Denver Hume: (7/10)
Energetic and pretty solid in limited minutes.
Will Grigg (6/10)
Didn’t have time to make an impact but pressed well
