Slow News Day

Updated: Aug 4, 2023

Well there’s not a great deal going on today, although we have upped our bid to bring Will Grigg from Wigan, so let’s hope it’s successful.

We have also won our appeal against Chris Maguire’s red card, which he received against Luton Town. An FA statement said: “A claim of wrongful dismissal regarding Sunderland AFC’s Christopher Maguire has been successful following an Independent Regulatory Commission hearing. The player was sent off for violent conduct during the game against Luton Town on Saturday.”

In other news, we have, predictably sold out our 1822 allocation for Oxford United on 9 February. ALS are running coaches to the game. Click here to book

Elsewhere, Glynn Snodin, who was Simon Grayon's number two last season, has been chatting about how much Netflix got on his nerves! “I'm glad I was only there three months. You don't like people in your face all the time, you want to work and do your football as you should do, you don't want to be different because there's a camera there. There were times we had to say 'look we can't have that camera there, we don't want it here, we want to work.' A lot of times we had to push them away, even though they wanted to follow you every minute of the day."
