TRANSFER RUMOUR ROUNDUP

There have been a few rumours beginning to develop regarding a number of Sunderland players, but at this stage nothing is concrete and a lot of it may be agent talk or simply speculation...

WILSON ISIDOR

It has been reported that Everton are keen on Black Cats striker Wilson Isidor and have 'made an enquiry' about his availability this month. Isidor is our joint-top scorer this season with four, along with Brian Brobbey, but hasn't scored since October 25th and has not started a match since our 3-2 win over Bournemouth in late November.

Despite this slow patch for the 25-year-old, the Toffees have apparently put the feelers out to see if Isidor would be a realistic target in the coming weeks. It has been said that while David Moyes is an admirer of the player, Sunderland value the Frenchman at £25m. With Thierno Barry and Beto the only senior strikers at Everton (both of whom had their respective penalties saved in our FA Cup shootout) it is no surprise that Moyes wants to bolster Everton's frontline. Their approach for Isidor remains informal at this early stage.

NOAH SADIKI

It was said earlier this week that Manchester United were putting together a package deal to present to Sunderland with a fee plus midfielder Manuel Ugarte included. The Uruguay international is 24, signing for the Red Devils from PSG for roughly £42m in 2024 but is said to be out of favour at Old Trafford.

Sadiki's performances since signing for just £15m in the summer have grabbed the attention of many clubs but, with the DR Congo international under contract until 2030, we are by no means in a rush to sell. Since these reports emerged, sources have said that Sadiki is seen as one of Regis Le Bris' "crown jewels" and is considered "untouchable" this month.

Most Sunderland fans seem happy to acept that Noah has a huge ceiling and will likely leave the club at some point in the future, whether that be this summer or the following year. That is the model - we will take a huge return on that £15m investment, and put it back into the squad to sign a number of players at a higher price level or calibre. At 21, Sadiki has plenty of time to assess his options and choose the right move. While United may offer financial security off the pitch, Old Trafford in recent years has become a place where players go and see their careers falter. Arguably Sadiki would be better off at another club, perhaps abroad.

SIMON ADINGRA

This one came out of the blue last night - reports have suggested that Liverpool, Juventus and Real Madrid are keeping tabs on Simon Adingra who has scored just the one goal for Sunderland and does not have a place nailed down in our starting 11. Apparently the Black Cats value the winger between €30m and €40m, which would certainly turn a profit on the approximate £20m paid to Brighton in the summer.

Adingra is a classic winger in the sense that he will frustrate you at times before coming up with something amazing a minute later. His decision-making can be erratic and he doesn't offer his fullback any real defensive support. He didn't make the Ivory Coast squad for AFCON 2025 due to a lack of regular minutes on Wearside. Perhaps this is simply his agent trying to ruffle a few feathers and get his name onto the rumour mill...
