TIM GREENWELL ARRIVES

Sunderland AFC have appointed Tim Greenwell as Chief Operating Officer, subject to regulatory approval, accoring to FCBusiness.

The report claims that Greenwell joined the club in early September, working alongside previous COO Paul Kingsmore during a planned handover period, before taking full responsibility at the end of the month.

Most recently, Greenwell served as COO at Southampton, a role he held for 10 years. His responsibilities there covered sporting, commercial and business support functions, including stadium and training ground operations. He also led strategic, operational and regeneration projects, was involved in supporter and stakeholder engagement, reputation management and crisis response.

It is said that September was used as a handover month to ensure a smooth introduction to life at SAFC, and ensure that the club's opening UEFA fixtures went smoothly too.
