SEELT UPDATE

It has been confirmed that Jenson Seelt has signed a new contract with Sunderland and will now join Swansea City on loan for the 2026/27 season.

The Dutchman has agreed a new deal running until 2030, but will immediately head to Wales for the 2026/27 Championship season. Still only 23, Seelt started in Sunderland's opening game of the 2025/26 campaign against West Ham United before making the loan switch to Bundesliga outfit Wolfsburg, where he made 10 appearances.

Sunderland AFC Director of Football, Florent Ghisolfi said: “Jenson has earned his new contract based on his performances during his time at the Club. We are looking for him to continue to develop his game whilst on loan at Swansea this season. By signing the contract before he completes the loan move, it demonstrates that we see him as a player who is very much part of Sunderland’s plans in the future, which is what we’re all working towards.”
