SADIKI BACKS RLB

Noah Sadiki has offered his full support to Regis Le Bris, admitting that the players need to shoulder the responsibility and 'the gaffer isn't the problem'. Sadiki also, quite rightly, claimed that discussing what needs to change is pointless unless it is backed up with actions.

PLAYER RESPONSIBILITY

"Of course. I don’t think the gaffer is the problem. We are making the mistakes. He’s not making the mistakes. He’s putting in the players, and the players have enough quality. That’s why they’re all here. I don’t think the gaffer is a problem."

BOUNCE BACK

"We owe it to him, and we owe it to ourselves as well. We owe it to the fans. We owe it to everybody who comes to support us every weekend and every European game. We’re letting a lot of people down. We’re letting ourselves down as well sometimes. We need to step up in the next game. Things are not going our way. We are not putting in the effort that we need to. We need to get back on the same page. Pushing in the same direction, even though it’s difficult."

FAN UNREST

"It’s understandable. It’s understandable that they are not happy at the moment because we are not at 100% of our quality right now. I won’t say many players. Everyone on the team is on another level right now. We need to step up. It’s the same players as last season. I don’t think the quality is gone. I don’t think the morale is gone. I think it’s a difficult moment, like I’m saying. It’s a really difficult moment. There is a moment where we need to step up as a team. Everybody is on their own."

HAS CONFIDENCE BECOME AN ISSUE?

"It can be, but I don’t think confidence is something that you can rely on because confidence comes and goes. I don’t think you can rely on confidence."

ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS

"I don't think talking solves anything. If you don’t put the actions on the pitch, talking is good because it makes people them think of their actions, but if it doesn’t follow on the pitch, it’s a little bit useless. We need to react as a team. Talking is good. Me coming here in front of you guys to explain, it’s alright, but if the action doesn’t follow, there's no point."

DRESSING ROOM ANXIETY?

“I don’t think so. I think it’s just a moment, like I said, where we need to stick together. It’s a little bit more difficult. Things are not going our way like it went last season. That’s now when you need to have your leaders, have the guys with character to step up. We have a game before the break to react. That’s a big game now.”

PRESSURE BUILDING

“Every time we lose, every game becomes bigger and bigger. Like I said, Chelsea is a big game. We have two or three days to reflect on what we did today. We have to give our best to the game. It’s a difficult moment for us now. The only thing I can say is that we need to stick together. Every team goes through difficult moments, and I think that it comes right now. It’s a good moment because we have a long way to fix it, we have a long season to fix it. We need to keep our eyes on the positives as well. We have the next game to react. That’s the only thing I can say now.”
