New Sunderland goalkeeper Robin Roefs has reflected on his whirlwind Sunderland arrival, making his debut against Real Betis after just one training session with his new teammates, and also spoke about working with our new Head of Goalkeeping, Neil Cutler.
BUILD RELATIONSHIPS QUICKLY
“It was only my first training session the day before. So there were still a few things to get used to - names, instructions, details - but I think the fastest way to get to know each other is by playing together. That’s how you build relationships.”
EASY TO SETTLE IN
“It all happened really fast. I only found out about the Club’s interest about a week before I arrived. But since getting here, it’s been easy to settle in. The lads have been really welcoming and the atmosphere is good - everyone is focused on what’s ahead.”
CUTLER
"He’s really open, really communicative, and I like that. Even after games, he doesn’t go too deep into details - he just puts an arm around you and gives you what you need.”
