RLB: WE STAY HUMBLE

During Newcastle's trip to Anfield last weekend when they got smashed 4-1 fans were quick to notice how poorly a young NUFC mascot was treat pre game. The mascot was left stranded on the pitch meanwhile the Liverpool players made their mascots feel involved by kicking a ball around with them and giving them a memory they'll keep with them forever. Then, following our 3-0 win over Burnley Nordi Mukiele posted a beautiful image of him with his mascot pre game that sums up the connection between the club and the fans, something which Regis Le Bris is very proud of as he commented on the mentality of the squad.

MUKIELE PIC WITH MASCOT

"It shows the connection we have with out stadium, our fans. This connection is key because in this sport, you can’t win alone. Teamwork is the key word. If you can play with your fans, it can help. We were a bit flat at the start of the second half, there was a little conversation with Dubravka and Hume... the fans reacted well and then the game was done."

UNDERDOG MENTALITY

"If we keep this mindset, we stay humble, we know that we have to be strong with our key pillars otherwise the level is too high and you get punished very quickly."

NO FEAR

"We spoke early in the season about the different challenges. We said if we only win against the second part of the table... you have to believe you can win against the best as well so you don’t miss any opportunities. On the other side, you have to know you have to give everything to win a single point."

CONSIDER US SAFE NOW?

"Not yet. We don’t want to have this feeling because we want to stay ambitious, to chase something. This first target is our main target and if we keep that mindset and ambition, this energy to win points, it’s the right mindset."
