RLB PRE BRENTFORD

Regis Le Bris is looking forward to tonight's game against an in-form Brentford side. He's praised their manager and the way they play, but to be fair we are also in good form, having lost none of our last five games.

UNBEATEN IN FIVE

“It is a good run, we showed great consistency and a good level of play across different scenarios. Probably we want to turn this consistency into more wins because I know the ambition within the squad is really there, but so far it has been good.”

GOALSCORING CONCERN

“It is always a concern because we want to win. But it is tough to score, I think the goal we scored against Tottenham was good collectively and individually. We want to repeat those kinds of actions.”

MORE GOALS FROM MIDFIELD

“From everywhere! Even on set pieces, I think it is possible to be a bit more efficient. We still have areas to develop, we are still a newly promoted side. Starting from a strong defence, using a consistent build-up under pressure, we want to improve our style of play and our efficiency. But it is a learning process and we are getting better.”

BEES

“They are good. Keith Andrews is doing very well as a head coach and they are consistent with a specific style of play. They have good stability and a clear identity as well. Another tough challenge.”

SO MANY DRAWS

“I think it is a strong platform to evolve and to improve. We would like to win more games but this league is so demanding that sometimes one point is good. From this consistency, character, ability to manage different scenarios, I think we have the ability to improve different areas. It is still a learning process and we don’t have many training sessions to be able to do that. The games are the training sessions and you want to get better.”

SURPRISE PACKAGE

“We still have something to discover because we are new in this league. Rather than saying it will be difficult, we try just to be ourselves and improve our way of playing. Maybe we can surprise many people in the league but at the same time, every game is like a new reset. We will go again and we will see.”

SKY’S THE LIMIT

“We don’t know exactly what we can become. Those players with their standards want to get better every day. When we had two or three bad sessions for example, they were really frustrated which was positive. The evolution of the squad after that, it is up to us as the coaching staff but also the players to show new things. We will see where it is going.”

BRENTFORD PREP

“I think it’s the same as usual. Get ready to manage their threats, they are really strong especially with Thiago and Schade and many offensive players. They can concede goals too, so it is a balance: try to manage their threats on one side, but try to express your qualities as well to score goals.”

STRIKE THE BALANCE

“You want to analyse the opponent with their ability to score and damage your defence, but you have to focus always on your qualities as well. It is always a balance. We want to be ourselves and get better in different areas, but at the same time you have to manage different points according to the opponent. So far, the balance is positive.”

KEITH ANDREWS

“Is it a surprise? I don’t know, because I don’t know how they work on a daily basis. But their results are really positive and it’s good to see that. They will be different (compared to the reverse fixture) but we are also different because we’ve had 17 games since that first game at home. I think everyone is different. The period is tough and unusual, it will be the fourth game in such a short space of time, so we just want to play the game and probably for both teams, they will take risks. We want to take risks so it will be an open game.”

LONG THROWS

“It is tough to create chances in open play. Now, the teams are so well-organised for a high press or mid press, and deep blocks are so strong. Set pieces are really important because you can create chaos in the box, you can organise not just the first contact but the second balls as well. You can generate momentum through these long throws. It is an important point because details make the difference.”
