RLB POST WREXHAM

Regis Le Bris reflected on the last game of Sunderland's USA tour, which was also their first win in the States.

MORE MINUTES IN THE TANK

“One more game, one of the key points was increasing the game time and to build the creative efficiency throughout different experiences. This game was another layer. Obviously it was hot but overall I think the environment was positive.”

WREXHAM STYLE

“A Championship team who were in a 5-4-1 and quite direct, it was quite similar to Leeds’ setup to be fair. They didn’t press the goalkeeper so we had to find a solution to either play through their shape or go in behind. But it was a second experience against that shape. The grass was a bit dry so it wasn’t easy to create a good tempo but I think the lads did well.”

BROBBEY STRENGTH

“I think Brian wanted to play more than planned, which is good news! This connection with the number nine is a big threat for us and his teammates are keen to play with him, the support and then the goal was a perfect example.”

USA TOUR GONE WELL

“Good. It’s good just to spend time together, to create this cohesion and togetherness being one of our key pillars for the season. I think the lads appreciate it. It is also important to connect with the new fans.”

FANS

“It is good to see our jersey in the stands everywhere we go. We’ll need the fans this season. Togetherness isn’t just about the players or the club, it’s the connection with our fans as well. It’s really unique in England so it is really good to reinforce this idea even abroad.”
