RLB POST L'POOL

ree

Regis Le Bris is proud of his team's efforts but says he's disappointed that we didn't leave Anfield with all three points. Imagine saying that at the start of the season! The manager also spoke about Luke O'Nien's Premier League debut on the left wing...

GENERAL THOUGHTS

“I am happy and proud of the lads because we deserved this point. I think the first half was really interesting both with and without the ball. Probably we were even a bit surprised to be so dominant and escape their pressure. We spoke during halftime about this belief to go all the way, because we could dominate the whole game and try to score, and I think we did it. After that, as expected, many talented players came off the bench and they managed to generate new momentum. Then, the equaliser arrived.”

COULD HAVE WON IT

“A bit disappointed, because we had this opportunity with Wilson as well. Football is like that, at least we didn’t lose. Sometimes it is possible to deserve a point but you don’t win anything. At the end of the day it is still one point and we played well, so we are building this confidence and knowledge about the Premier League through different experiences.”

STILL LEARNING

“I think we are getting better. After 14 games we feel that we are still learning. We have a really young squad and the shared experience is not big, so we need time to learn everything in this team. They are learning really quickly.”

TALBI

“I think he did well. During this game, probably he was expecting to play on the left side because I know it is important for him. He needs to develop this versatility as well because sometimes we need to play in different positions to help the squad.”

LO9

“It wasn’t a gift, he deserved to be part of the project. Today we needed him… as a left winger! To help the squad, because their triangle was very efficient on this side and we needed another defender there. That was the solution, and he did well.”

ONTO CITY

“Another tough challenge but another exciting one. We worked hard last season and before that in order to live these kinds of experiences. Tough, yes, but with the belief that it is still possible to win something.”
