Much of Regis Le Bris' pre-Brighton press conference was focused on our recent victory against those up the road. Whilst answering each question he had a smile on his face which is quite rare for the gaffer to show any emotion! This is what he had to say on the game and the how everyone at the club has reacted.
HIGH SPIRITS
“Yeah, after a win is always the case."
RARE SHOWING OF EMOTION VS MAGS
"Yeah, I think we felt the energy of the stadium, it was really impressive on Sunday, and it was shared so we just had to enjoy it, it was a really short period but the emotions we feel are really positive."
USE POSITIVE ENERGY HEADING INTO BRIGHTON
"I think we had just one day to relax a bit and when the players came back into the Academy of Light they were ready to work again. So, they were happy and with a big win like that I think it’s important for the emotion, for the mood of the squad to be ready to go again but our next opponent will be really strong."
WHERE DOES DERBY WIN RANK PERSONALLY?
"It's still three points to be fair so you can win against Newcastle and everyone is happy but at the end of the day its only here points so it was important for the fixture, what it means for the regions but at the same time the league is still going and we just have to compete again."
HOW DID RLB CELEBRATE DERBY WIN?
"I slept! I was tired to be fair and rest was really important because we kept the consistency of the process. How can we use the positive and the negative from this game? Every new game is a new experience, and we are composed, I think we showed great character, good level of intensity and good maturity as well because we were ready to seize the key moments and it showed that we were mature, I think. At the same time, it’s impossible to find out new elements to improve and I think this game was really useful for that."
ANYTHING/ONE ON CHRISTMAS LIST?
"I’m not sure it’s the right moment to be fair because there’s always a new game to prepare. We are in a good place, and we enjoy the journey."
