Our gaffer previewed Saturday's home game and reflected on a busy Christmas period with the recent busy run of away games...
END OF A TOUGH RUN
“It was a busy period without six or seven players. I think the lads did really well because it was expected to be really hard. We showed a good level of composure. We struggled at Brentford, it is fair to say that, and I think the lads reacted really well in the FA Cup with a fully deserved qualification. Now, it is time to move again with another tough challenge at home against Palace.”
PALACE WINLESS IN 9
“When you have a bad period you always want to react. It shows once again how tough and demanding this league is. They struggled in the FA Cup and they are not in a good run, but they have a strong group, they are well coached, good experience. It shows that it is tough to play in this league and a reaction can happen."
FOCUS ON OUR GAME
"We don’t expect anything from them, it is really clear to stay focused on our strengths. The way we want to play with energy and humility, and the collective work.”
CPFC WEAKENED SIDE
“Probably a bit, but they are still really strong. They have good players. I think it is the normal pathway of a season, you have injuries and suspensions and players aren’t available. But the depth of the squad is still there and they have different options.”
