Sunderland lost 3-0 to Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium. A brace from Igor Thiago and a goal from Yehor Yarmoliuk saw Keith Andrew’s men earn all three points.
ROBIN ROEFS: 7/10
Nothing he could have really done about any of the goals, all of them came from poor defending. Had one dodgy moment where he paused to check on a player he collided with, almost letting them in, aside from that he was fine.
TRAI HUME: 4/10
Awful passing, couldn’t win a tussle to save his life and always too late to do anything about the goals.
NORDI MUKIELE: 5.5/10
Had a couple of bright moments going forward but was awful in the air and passing was very inaccurate.
DAN BALLARD: 6.5/10
He was okay, no glaring errors which is a lot better than some can say.
OMAR ALDERETE: 4/10
Didn’t get going from minute one, looked very fatigued given the amount of football he's played recently. Gave the ball away so many times.
GRANIT XHAKA: 4.5/10
Head went after the penalty miss, couldn’t pass to save his life. Before that, okay.
LUTSHAREL GEERTRUIDA: 3/10
Played a huge part in their second goal and very absent throughout.
CHRIS RIGG: 4.5/10
Was brought off before things got really bad, just not strong enough but the basics were there.
ENZO LE FEE: 3/10
No clue what he was playing at with the penalty, worst I’ve ever seen from a Sunderland player. Probably cost us the game, or at least a draw, because we had all the momentum at that point. Aside from the penalty he actually had a decent game but that moment drags his rating down.
SIMON ADINGRA: 5/10
Same as Rigg really but was able to get into the box a bit more and created a decent chance right before going off.
BRIAN BROBBEY: 7.5/10
Coped with their defence quite well and won the penalty, can’t ask for much more from your striker really.
SUBS:
ELIEZER MAYENDA: 4.5/10
Came on and had a go but really struggled.
ROMAINE MUNDLE: 5/10
Fared a bit better than Mayenda but messed up his chances.
DENNIS CIRKIN: 6/10
Not an awful lot to judge him off and the game was dead and buried by the time he came on.
DAN NEIL: 6/10
Same as Cirkin.
LUKE O’NIEN: N/A
On the pitch for a few minutes at the end.
