PLAYER RATINGS V WOLVES

Sunderland battled to a point away to Wolverhampton Wanderers, with only 10 men for most of the affair. Nordi Mukiele gave us the lead in the first half but, shortly afterwards, Dan Ballard was sent off for pulling a Wolves player’s hair. In my view, it was accidental but it allowed the Old Gold back into the game and they equalised after the break.
ROBIN ROEFS: 8/10
Made six saves, including a good reflex one with less than 10 minutes remaining, he definitely played his part in us coming away with a point. Distribution not always great but sent a great ball through to Wilson Isidor at one point.
NORDI MUKIELE: 7.5/10
Scored our goal and was fine, if unspectacular, other than that.
DAN BALLARD: 6/10
Unlucky to be sent off, the rule needs changing as soon as possible.
OMAR ALDERETE: 7/10
He was completely fine, with the occasional dodgy moment mixed in that led to nothing of consequence.
REINILDO: 7/10
Defensively okay but would have liked him to have a bit more desire to get forward once or twice, particularly in the second half.
GRANIT XHAKA: 8.5/10
Standard, good Granit Xhaka performance. Tidied up the middle of the pitch, mucked in at the back and almost scored himself.
NOAH SADIKI: 7.5/10
Noticed him a lot more prior to the break, when he always seemed to be in a good position to receive the ball but he didn’t directly have a huge impact on the game.
TRAI HUME: 5.5/10
I can’t really recall him doing a lot and he wasn’t great for their goal.
ENZO LE FEE: 8/10
He was fantastic before Ballard was dismissed, after that he was quieter but still good. Lacked in the final third a bit but really showed his quality once or twice.
CHEMSDINE TALBI: 5.5/10
Zero effectiveness in the final third but he did do well to get himself into the positions to mess it up at least. Squandered a few decent shooting opportunities, either by not getting enough behind the ball or by just not shooting.
BRIAN BROBBEY: 5/10
He didn’t impose himself enough today in my view.
SUBS:
DENNIS CIRKIN: 6.5/10
I thought he looked decent, especially when going forward.
HABIB DIARRA: 4.5/10
I wasn’t happy with how he played, missed a few good chances to challenge the goalkeeper or set someone up.
WILSON ISIDOR: 5.5/10
He had a go at least but it just never came off right for him.
