PLAYER RATINGS: MAN UTD

ree

Sunderland were defeated for the second time this season after a very poor first half against Manchester United. In the second we fared better but didn’t have enough quality to put the ball into the back of the net despite there being a few chances.

ROBIN ROEFS: 8/10

Made four saves in total, including one really good one a few minutes before their second. Could have done slightly better with the first and distribution all over the shop but we would have been out of that game long before we actually were without him.

TRAI HUME: 4/10

Fared slightly better than his fullback counterpart but was poor defensively and sloppy going forward.

NORDI MUKIELE: 6.5/10

Defensively was alright but his long throwing just didn’t work. Found himself in decent positions in Man Utd's final third towards the end but nothing came of it.

OMAR ALDERETE: 6.5/10

Also defensively fine but was nowhere near as effective as he was against Nottingham Forest and got himself booked in poor circumstances.

ARTHUR MASUAKU: 3/10

Got bullied all afternoon by their right hand side and should have been brought off a lot sooner, also timid going forward.

GRANIT XHAKA: 6.5/10

Forced a save out of their goalkeeper at one point and was average throughout. Had a few good moments and an equal amount of moments when he should have done better.

NOAH SADIKI: 7/10

One of our better players, bailed us out massively in the second half at one point and looked a lot more comfortable. Had a better second half than first half, but so did everyone.

BERTRAND TRAORE: 6.5/10

A couple of half chances in the first 45, had a dearth of service though. Did really well to break forward after the break but wasn’t given the foul and instead booked, one of the stranger decisions I’ve seen. Wouldn't be surprised to see us given an apology from the PGMOL later...

ENZO LE FEE: 4.5/10

Couldn’t win a 50/50 to save his life and passing was poor.

SIMON ADINGRA: 5.5/10

I don’t think he individually was that bad but was sacrificed early on when the system wasn’t working. He was getting into decent positions through some good work but floundered when he had to get it into the box.

WILSON ISIDOR: 5/10

Just eight touches because he had no service at any point.

SUBS:

DAN BALLARD: 6.5/10

Missed an absolute sitter but was completely solid at the back.

CHEMSDINE TALBI: 6.5/10

Also missed a great chance, just had to put it either side of the goalkeeper and we have a goal. Did okay with the rest of his minutes.

ELIEZER MAYENDA: 6/10

Had a couple of decent runs forward and looked eager, squandered a shot on the edge of the box when he could've passed it for a clearer chance.

BRIAN BROBBEY: 6/10

Almost scored with a low ball into the box that he just couldn’t meet. Made only five touches due to lack of service.

LUTSHAREL GEERTRUIDA: 6.5/10

Did well at the back and probably should have started.
