PLAYER RATINGS: MAN U

Sunderland were the better of the two teams as we drew with Manchester United 0-0 at the Stadium of Light, unfortunately we were unable to break the deadlock at any point.

ROBIN ROEFS: 8/10

He wasn’t too busy today, aside from a great save at the death which made sure we earned a point. Dallied on the ball at one point and almost let them in but he avoided embarrassment.

LUTSHAREL GEERTRUIDA: 9/10

Worked his socks off and had two of our best chances, forcing a save in the first half and hitting the woodwork in the second.

NORDI MUKIELE: 8/10

Sometimes allowed the opponent to get the better of him but never compounded on his errors and made sure their attacks resulted in little more than a small amount of worry most of the time.

OMAR ALDERETE: 8/10

He was good and played his part in making sure their strikers did little.

REINILDO: 8/10

Not majorly busy and wasn’t always flawless but he did his job well enough, with practically no threat being generated from their attack on his side of the pitch.

GRANIT XHAKA: 9.5/10

He was involved in the action constantly, both whilst we went forward and whilst we defended and he barely put a foot wrong all game.

NOAH SADIKI: 9/10

Like Xhaka, made himself very present today and nearly scored less than 10 minutes in.

TRAI HUME: 7.5/10

Defensively fine but he squandered a huge chance to get the ball to Brian Brobbey in a situation that likely would have resulted in a goal in the second half.

ENZO LE FEE: 8.5/10

Lots of chances generated from him, which on a more lucky day would have seen him rewarded with an assist. Should have passed towards the end though but instead blasted one over with a poor shot.

CHEMSDINE TALBI: 6/10

Clearly, he lacks a bit of confidence but I feel like he gets himself into great positions and just isn’t found by his teammates so it’s no wonder. He does have to improve in the final third but we weren’t aggressive enough attacking today as a team so I can’t blame the wingers too much.

BRIAN BROBBEY: 7.5/10

Strong and eager but he couldn’t find the back of the net. Maybe he could have done better with one of his chances but their goalkeeper had a great game.

SUBS:

NILSON ANGULO: 7/10

He looked really good I thought, particularly when he got the ball past his man and dribbled into the box. There’s a player there.

ELIEZER MAYENDA: N/A

Nothing to judge him on really as he was only on the pitch for a few minutes.
