PLAYER RATINGS: FULHAM

Sunderland won their first home match of the season, beating Fulham by a goal to nil. Wilson Isidor profiting from a Habib Diarra cross in the second half made the difference in a game that we probably needed to win given our upcoming fixtures.

ROBIN ROEFS: 7/10

He wasn’t busy at all, aside from having to collect a few crosses and corners, so I have no major criticisms or praise. Can’t complain with the clean sheet.

THOMAS MEUNIER: 7.5/10

Contributed more than Trai Hume on the right hand side and played his defensive role very well. He’s going to be key for us this season, especially if we don’t bring in a natural right winger.

NORDI MUKIELE: 9/10

Definitely our best player in the first half and solid throughout. Made a number of key blocks and tackles, shoring up the back very well in a way that we just didn’t against Ipswich Town.

DAN BALLARD: 7/10

Much better than against Ipswich, probably not back to his best quite yet but he’s getting there.

REINILDO: 7.5/10

Did quite well at the back and contributed going forward. Just your standard, decent Reinildo performance.

GRANIT XHAKA: 8/10

I think he put the long ball into Enzo Le Fee for Isidor’s missed chance before the goal, he also created a few other chances and was very good in the middle. Much better than in our last game.

NOAH SADIKI: 8/10

Very active in the first half, perhaps a bit quieter (at least on the ball) after the break but there’s nothing to moan about with him today.

TRAI HUME: 6/10

He’s just not a right winger and should be moved to another position or dropped. Alright defensively.

ENZO LE FEE: 8.5/10

Could have scored himself and definitely should have had an assist after some good work but unfortunately Isidor struck the post.

NILSON ANGULO: 6.5/10

A common story with our wingers, gets himself into good positions but hasn’t figured out how to put that final pass in or score himself.

BRIAN BROBBEY: 7/10

Held the ball up well a few times but didn’t get any decent shooting opportunities.

SUBS:

HABIB DIARRA: 8.5/10

Changed the game, we looked a lot more dangerous on the right side and he put the ball in for Isidor’s goal. A massive shame he had to go off injured and I hope he won’t be out for long.

WILSON ISIDOR: 8.5/10

Scored the winner and positioned himself well, even though he should have had two.

CHRIS RIGG: 6/10

Literally touched the ball twice so just defaulted to a six.

ROMAINE MUNDLE: N/A

Can’t rate him on only a few minutes however he looked bright and should have made it 2-0.
