Nordi Mukiele has proven himself to be one of the bargains of the summer. After his battling display at Forest, he spoke about his partnership with Omar Alderete and his connection with the Sunderland fans too...
FIRST AWAY WIN
“Yeah, it was a really good game for our side and we took three points for our first away win. I’m really happy because through this game we suffered a lot, although I would not say for 90 minutes, but we defended very well all together and we scored the goal in the first half. It was very important and we kept this result, so for the first win away I’m very happy.”
TIL THE END
“It’s not easy, even more when you play away, so we have to be focused every minute. We know in football how it is, if you make a small mistake it can cost you a goal. I’m lucky that we have good players, it’s very important for my position just to try to keep the team focused from the first minute until the end. This is what we did today and I’m really, really happy with the guys because they were fighting until the end. I am really proud of them because it is not easy to win here. For our first win away, it is a good job we’ve done it like that.”
OMAR THE WARRIOR
“To be honest, I am really happy for him. He has one chance against Aston Villa which I gave to him but he didn’t score, so this time he did it! I am really happy about his goal because I have a good connection with him. Even if we don’t speak the same language, we understand each other well. That’s what we did today, we didn’t concede any goals and this is really good. I just hope that we keep going, we have to stay consistent because it is the most important thing to do. Now we have to think about the next game because this one is behind us.”
LOYAL SUPPORT
“They are really important, home and away. We heard them a lot here. I just love when they’re singing. I am like a kid when I see them screaming, I love it! This really helps us. I will say every time, thank you for that. I think we did a good job and it was a good present for them. I just hope they go home safe and we’ll see them at the next game in Manchester.”
“Whoever we play, we have to stay consistent. Like I said before, we have to stay focused and even more for this game because it is a top, top team but we just have to show that we are too. I just believe in our team, the coaching staff, everyone. At the moment we’re doing a good job and I just hope that we keep doing it this way because we’re doing really well now.”
