Brian Brobbey has signed a new Sunderland contract until 2031.

The 24-year-old has scored three goals this season, all coming in one game against Manchester City at the Etihad. Since joining the Lads in 2025, Big Bad Bri has scored 10 goals in 40 appearances across all competitions.

Speaking after signing his new deal, Brobbey said: “I’m really happy with the confidence the club has shown in me. Since I arrived, I’ve felt the ambition here, and I want to keep growing and improving as a player.

“Representing Sunderland in the Premier League is both an honour and a privilege. Having played my part in helping this club qualify for European competition is something I’m incredibly proud of. It’s an achievement that will always be part of the club’s history.

“I know I still can be a better version of myself, and that’s what motivates me every day. I want to score goals, help the team and give our fans something to be proud of.”

Sunderland AFC Director of Football, Florent Ghisolfi, added: “We are delighted that Brian has committed his future to Sunderland. This agreement reflects a shared belief in what we can achieve together and a mutual commitment to keep progressing.

“Brian has important qualities, and we believe there is much more to come from him. Our responsibility is to support his development and challenge him every day, so he can fulfil his potential and help the team succeed.

“We want to build a team that grows together, with players who embrace the demands of this Club and take pride in representing Sunderland. Brian has an important part to play in that journey, and we look forward to continuing our work together.”
