Sunderland's summer holidays have finished and the team are now back in training, preparing for their first Premier League season in eight years. Luke O'Nien spoke about how the top flight was always the aim, and also discussed the club's exciting approach to the transfer market.

LONG-TERM GOAL ACHIEVED

“It’s incredible seeing the impact of what the Premier League can do. Since the day I joined, it’s been the goal of the club. So many people have collectively invested so much into it and now we’re starting to see that we’re going up to the Premier League and we’re building. That’s so important."

KEEP MOVING FORWARD

"Every single year, every transfer window, it’s important that the club keeps moving forward both individually and collectively. We’re doing that now. The club are making sure we get stronger in all departments and I think we’re seeing that."

EXCITING NEW SIGNINGS

"The new boys are starting to integrate now into the sessions and you’re going to see the quality that they put into the squad.”
