Regis Le Bris has given a rundown on the status of those who are currently out injured, including usual starters Romaine Mundle and Jobe Bellingham as well as Jayden Danns who is currently in Merseyside with his parent club Liverpool. He also discussed the players who have been out for larger spells such as Jenson Seelt, Niall Huggins and Aji Alese.
ROMAINE MUNDLE TARGETING PLAY-OFFS
"The target for Romaine is the play-offs. We'll try and prepare him for these fixtures - he should be OK."
TOMMY WATSON
“Tommy is OK. Now it's just a question of level, improvements and connection with the competition. You always need time to build self confidence, your level, your references with your teammates and the opponent as well. We have to remember he built these references progressively before his injury. Now he needs time because this competition is tough. I hope he can play a big part between now and the end of season, absolutely.”
JOBE ABSENT
"Jobe will skip this one so that he is fresh and competitive for the last stage of the season."
SALIS ABDUL SAMED
"Salis will be back in the squad tomorrow and I think he will get some game time. It's another opportunity for him to reconnect with the team, he's a good player. he's been unlucky this season with his first injury and then a recurrence. He had two opportunities to play and his connection with the team wasn't perfect. But I think he is in a good place now and he knows that the story isn't finished, there is still a big opportunity here. He knows that sometimes the way you finish can hide the story of the season. He knows the opportunity for both him and for us."
WEIRD SEASON FOR SAMED
"It's been a weird season for him but he is going to get an opportunity. We need to manage the players in the middle of the pitch so we are going to be adjusting and trying different partnerships, so there are going to be opportunities for Salis."
NO JAYDEN DANNS
"He won't play with us this season, it is definitive now."
AHMED ABDULLAHI
"It's [been] tough for Ahmed. He's struggled with the consequences of his surgery. It's not a big deal but he's not comfortable to train 100%."
AJI ALESE
"Aji was expected to be out for the full season but he will be close in two weeks. He's worked hard to be connected with the team."
JENSON SEELT
"With Jenson He came with the team at Coventry and I think he pushed very strong to be ready. After that he suffered from discomfort with his knee. It's not major but we have to manage his load. He could be involved for the last stage."
NIALL HUGGINS
"Niall is also in a good place. Probably he could be back with us part training maybe next week or the week after. He's really close to being back with us. It's probably too much to expect he will play this season but we don't know because he's really connected and positive. Maybe he could be on the bench, I don't know. I'm looking forward to seeing him close to the team because he's quick, versatile, he can dribble, he can play under pressure. He has many good characteristics for full-back."
POSITIVE SPIRITS
"It's a good sign when you are in the physio room you can feel the mood of the injured players. We can feel positive vibes. It means they are connected and want to be part of the process."
