Dan Ballard was unable to help Sunderland get a positive result against his former club but is keen to move forward now and bounce back against Liverpool.
NOT A BAD PERFORMANCE
"We’re obviously disappointed but I think the performance on a whole wasn’t bad. Especially in the first half, I thought we were brilliant and the goal we conceded was a bit of a sucker punch and it was always going to be tough from that moment. I thought we responded really well in the second half and then again, small details, it’s a poor second goal to concede and it’s really tough from that point on. But I do think there are a lot of positives to take from it. We’re disappointed but we’ve got a massive game on Wednesday night so we’ll take the positives from today.”
FINE MARGINS
“We discussed in there that the performance on a whole wasn’t bad, it is just the small details but that’s the Premier League. We’ve come away from here losing 3-0 on small details really. You get punished at this level, especially against probably the best team in Europe at the minute.”
ONTO LIVERPOOL
“We’re focused on Wednesday’s game now. Hopefully we can bounce back, we’ve done it all season, and we’ll be ready to go.”
AWAY FAN SUPPORT
“All season they’ve been the same, they’ve been brilliant. We haven’t really given them enough to cheer about this season and it’s something we are trying to address. We need to improve on our away form but it’s a big jump to come to the Premier League and we’re learning every game. Hopefully we can just keep improving."
