Regis Le Bris has confirmed that Adil Aouchiche will be allowed to leave the club before the end of the transfer window and he is not in consideration for Monday's squad against Boro. The attacking midfielder was close to a loan move to Portsmouh but that is currently on hold due to the FA's complicated post-Brexit transfer rules...
Players like Aouchiche who are unable to obtain a full work permit can apply for an Elite Significant Contribution (ESC) certificate, but Championship clubs are only allowed four of these ESC players in their squad. Pompey already have four other ESC players, meaning they would need to free up a spot before Monday night to accomodate the Frenchman.
INTEREST IN OUR PLAYERS
“We'll see what happens. We have good players, which can provoke interest. At the end, we will decide."
REMAINED PROFESSIONAL
“With Adil, we know each other very well and it's clear that his behaviour was absolutely perfect this season. He had an opportunity and he did well, even if not in his best position."
DESERVES MINUTES ELSEWHERE
“He worked hard and deserved it. Now, for the last couple of months it could be better for him to play and be involved in the starting XI (at another club). If it fits, it will be a good solution.”
