MILLWALL ONES TO WATCH

Off the back of Sunderland’s fruitful trip to the Hawthorns, Mike Dodds’ side return to home soil for their penultimate home game of the season. Millwall have had an interesting run of results recently; defeats to Rotherham and Huddersfield followed by victories against Leicester and Cardiff. That Leicester result specifically demonstrates they have players that can hurt you. Who will we have to look out for the most? Let’s take a look…

ZIAN FLEMMING

With his eight goals so far this season, Flemming is the top scorer for Millwall and has been a bright spark in what has been a dismal season for the Lions. The attacking midfielder also has five assists to his name and has been the creative outlet for Millwall this season. The Dutchman netted on 15 occasions for his club last season following his move from Fortuna Sittard, with Millwall narrowly missing out on the play-offs to Sunderland.

DUNCAN WATMORE

Remember him? It feels like yesterday Watmore emerged through our youth academy when in reality, it was 10 years ago… Now 30-years-old, yes 30, Watmore doesn’t possess the same pace he had as a youngster but still offers a threat wherever he plays. Very similar to his Sunderland days, Watmore likes to drive forward with the ball and can craft chances for his team by doing so. The forward has 30 appearances this season but over half of them have come as a substitute and he’s only on three goal contributions for the season.

KEVIN NISBET

Formerly linked with Sunderland, the Scotsman has found the net five times this season but he’s always a handful to defenders. His five goals doesn’t scream ‘prolific’ but he’s been in and out of the team. He’s got 26 appearances in the league with only 40% of them coming from the starting lineup. He’s a physical striker who is capable of holding the ball up, demonstrated by his time in Scotland and more specifically with Hibernian.

RYAN LONGMAN

I couldn’t mention Millwall’s recent triumph against league favourites Leicester City without mentioning the man who scored the winning goal of the game, cutting inside and curling a wonderful effort into the far corner of the goal. Granted, it was only his third goal of the season. However when a player can do things like that, it’s important to prevent any chances of it happening again. Longman has made 32 league appearances this season with two assists alongside those three goals. Predominantly playing off the right flank, he could pose a threat against whoever he comes up against at the weekend.
