Suffering

The only positive to come out of the Burton game is that I don't have to suffer another game until the 14 Dec. By that time the wounds of an horrific performance will have healed and a renewed optimism will have me skipping down to the SOL.

I'm only dreaming of course the high ball tactics reminded me of Darlington under Garry Bennett, totally clueless. I'm not a fan of Will Grigg but last night I felt sorry for the lad. There is a big question hanging over the totally inept coaching team. What are they doing on the training ground? Hoofing a ball up to the smallest man on the pitch just beggar’s belief.

Burton's second goal resulted from the umpteenth high ball up to Grigg which was headed back by the defender putting them on the attack and two passes later… goal.

The players are capable of short crisp passing and movement because I see it in every pre-match warm up. I just shake my head because I know when the game starts its headless chicken time.

The players need to be more patient in their build up keeping the ball on the deck with short passing and movement getting to the bye line and getting defenders on the back foot. High balls are out unless clearing out of defence or crossing from the by-line.

Football is a simple game it's not complicated the clue is in the name, football. Parkinson needs to get his finger out and fast!
