Regis Le Bris was happy to earn a tough point on the road but admitted that we were unlucky not to come away with more, especially after such a dominant first half display.

HARD PLACE TO COME

“It’s a tough place to come so a good point on the road. We started really well and we were pleased with the first half. If you compare for example with last season, I think we were a bit exhausted at that period. Here we were so dominant but it’s important to score when you create so many chances. That was not the case, but it wasn’t from bad choices, sometimes you are just a bit unlucky. For example we hit the post and had a goal disallowed. It is what it is. Second half we knew that we are coming away from home and with such a strong first half it was possible for them to react. They made three changes which swung the momentum a bit but after the goal we were back in the game. We showed courage and togetherness and this belief that we can score until the end.”

TIL THE END

“We are really good when we are in the position of one-nil down. The Lads feel that if they are in the game, they can be dominant, create chances and go all the way. They are really good at that and I think the subs helped as well.”

SUPER SUBS

“It was key because with this intensity it is hard to stay fresh for the last choice or the last pass, and to give the energy to be efficient in the final third. They helped in that area.”

“You need character to score that penalty. Enzo is in a really good place. He’s a good footballer and last year we spoke about this penalty choice. It is always difficult to explain but today he showed the response.”

“He brings authority, physicality, presence, he is a leader and I think this is just the beginning because it was the first game. A hard one to start, to be fair, because you know when you come here it’s going to be intense, many duels in the air, a strong striker. So he was impressive.”
