Regis Le Bris has explained the role Kyril Louis-Dreyfus played in Granit Xhaka's groundbreaking transfer to Sunderland, saying the move would have been impossible without our owner's involvement.
FULL TRUST
"He trusts the process and he respects the position of everyone. The owner is the owner, he's not someone who will analyse a player and give an opinion about technique and the tactical level and so on. He trusts the people for that - my part, Flo [Ghisolfi] and Kristjaan or the recruitment structure."
SWISS CONNECTION
"When the green light is done and we believed that Granit might be a really good signing for us, now we have something to do. At that moment he was really important because for us it wasn't possible. It wasn't a normal signing. It was something very different, his involvement was crucial - massive."
FINDING BARGAINS
"We still have the second youngest squad so it's part of our identity I think. We won't sign only experienced player, middle aged players who are really expensive in the market. It's not possible for us. On the flip side, we have this expertise I think. The way we can detect players and develop players. Even if they have good qualities we need to support them and create an environment to enhance their qualities."
